How Do We Talk About Trauma?

A Discussion on Boundaries with Laura Khoudari

About the Video

When Laura Khoudari developed PTSD, she had trouble finding the trauma-informed recovery program she wanted – so she designed one herself.

In her book Lifting Heavy Things: Healing Trauma One Rep at a Time, Laura recounts this journey in a uniquely secondary trauma-informed way; she protects her own privacy as well as readers’ well-being by setting clear boundaries around what she will and will not share.

In this session, Sarah Stewart interviews Laura Khoudari about how strength training taught Laura to first recognize and honour her boundaries – and how it can help others.

Recorded in June 2022 as part of the CARE4YOU conference.
