Vaccine Guilt & Building Blanket Forts

Vaccine Guilt & Building Blanket Forts

Long Haulers, One-Year into the Pandemic Q&A

About the Video

March 2021 marks the one-year anniversary of the start of the pandemic in North America. In this conversation, Françoise Mathieu, Diana Tikasz, and Dr. Jennifer Russel discuss three questions submitted by our community about managing one-year into the pandemic.

(0:43): My spouse works in a busy emergency department doing mental health assessments. Because he is on the frontline. he has received his vaccine. He is now feeling guilty because he is immunized and his family is not. How do you deal with “vaccine guilt”?

(6:31): I’m a mom with a newborn and a three-year old and a spouse who works from home. For safety reasons, we don’t see other people. I’m feeling exhausted and frustrated at family members who are not following public health guidelines and are secretly meeting with each other. How do I cope with this?

(13:31): There was an adverse community reaction to a “self-care bingo game” put out by a public health unit that suggested “taking a bubble bath” and “building a blanket fort” to help manage the stress of the pandemic. Why was there such a severe pushback to this campaign?
